Ms.Khan- Head of Vertical Tutoring

Vertical tutoring is a system where tutor groups are integrated with students from all year groups, promoting constructive and positive relationships throughout the school. After much careful thought, our school, Holland Park, have decided to implement this scheme for students. We interviewed Ms. Khan, who was responsible for this operation, to find out more:

‘We plan to have four houses in order to recreate the family within the vertical tutoring system.’

Ms Khan informed us that the tutor groups would go on trips together to places such as the cinema and park. They would also spend 20 minutes together on a daily basis, where younger students would ask advice from older students, who would in turn, share their experiences, to demonstrate a ‘natural mentoring process.’

Holland Park plans to put this system into action on 1st June as a trial run and if it is successful, a permanent scheme.
