Admissions
Holland Park is significantly over-subscribed in each year group. The school received approaching 800 applications for 240 places in Year 7 last year. When vacancies arise the school admits students to all Years throughout the school year. A 'waiting list' is currently held for prospective students in all year groups.
Mr. Chappell, the Associate Head, has oversight of all admissions. If you wish to apply for a place, please contact Ms Natalie Zara, the school's Examination and Admissions Registrar.
Our standard Admission Number is 240 in each year group, (7 to 11). We are proud to be a genuine comprehensive school. We seek to admit and to maintain a balanced intake with students representing all levels of ability and potential. We seek to ensure that academic achievement is the very core of our purpose. The school admits students across 3 bands of ability:
| BAND A | 25% of intake | 60 places |
| BAND B | 50% of intake | 120 places |
| BAND C | 25% of intake | 60 places |
The school achieves this by standardised testing. Tests for admission to Year 7 in September 2009 will be held at the school in December 2008. Further details are available from the school or the Town Hall.
Admissions to our Sixth Form
The majority of Year 11 students stay on to Year 12. Priority is given to Holland Park students but a minimum of 70 places are held for external applicants. We run a wide range of Post 16 courses and welcome students joining us for Year 12. The criteria for entry is based on the capacity of students to fulfil the needs of the course and on there being sufficient numbers to make a viable group. Contact : Ms Becky Waller, the Year 11-12 Transition Co-ordinator, or Ms Natalie Zara, the school's examination and admissions registrar.

The allocation and offer of places is the responsibility of the Executive Director for Family and Children's Services. When there are more applicants than places, priority is given as follows:
Applicants who have a brother or sister already at the school.
Applicants who attend a primary school in the Royal Borough on the closing date for applications in the admissions year.
Applicants who live nearest. Nearness to the school will be measured on a large-scale map of the area. For this purpose measurement will be over the shortest reasonable walking route and accessibility by private or public transport will be disregarded.
In exceptional circumstances the Executive Director for Family and Children's Services will admit children on grounds of particular medical or social need for Holland Park School.
