History
Holland Park was built in 1958 as London's first ever purpose-built comprehensive school. It has a rich and proud history of serving the full range of its community. It is culturally and linguistically diverse. It welcomes people from all parts of the world and is proud to be a dynamic international institution where tolerance is key.
The school promotes achievement by all and for all. The 2003 OFSTED Inspection recognized that the school combines the best of the past with new directions. In 2007 the school achieved the best examination results in its history at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level. Our results at each Key Stage are above the National Averages.
This achievement resulted in the school being recognised by the DCSF as the 8th most improved school in the country; for GCSE including English and mathematics over the past three yeras.
Holland Park, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, is a Community Secondary School and a mixed comprehensive. It has 1400 students aged from 11 to 19, 200 of whom are in the Sixth Form.
There are current plans underway to rebuild the school on its present site. This exciting and rare opportunity will be a key turning point for the school.
Meanwhile, the school guarantees to make the current school an attractive and up-to-date place of learning. In November 2007 OFSTED commented on "the outstanding learning environment." Parents and students can also be reassured that when rebuilding occurs, neither safety nor accessibility to experience will be compromised.
