To be successful at AS or A2 you will need a bank of excellent results.  While each application will receive personal consideration it is important that you understand the importance of achieving A*/A in your chosen and/or relevant subjects. You also need to connect AS/A2 choices with potential University courses.

Guidance in choosing University courses can be found by completing: the Stamford Test which is located in the student section of the UCAS website (www.ucas.ac.uk).  You should also use the Course Search section of the UCAS website to investigate the Entry Profiles of potential courses that you might wish to apply for. Entry Profiles provide specific information regarding the entry requirements for university courses and should be carefully examined to ensure that the AS courses that you select will provide a progression onto the courses that you may wish to apply for at university. For example from research you will find that if you wish to study Medicine at any university you will be in a position of comparable strength if you choose to study Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Maths.
