Business Studies combines accounting, economics, finance, marketing and organizational behaviour. The specification at Holland Park offers a smooth transition from GCSE Business Studies, although no prior knowledge is actually needed to tackle this course. The course at Holland Park develops students’ ability to analyse the business environment, the companies that operate within it, understand why they exist and the external factors that influence them. The course is wide-ranging and varied; students look at all aspects of business life from theory to the practical, and develop an economic knowledge of the world in which we live. Students will be expected to read a quality newspaper to help keep them abreast of world events and understand the impact of these on the world of business.
