History 'A' Level is about developing a sophisticated level of debate, argument and persuasion about interpretations of events in the past. The Holland Park course offers students the chance to focus on a diverse range of topics and develop their own personal study on an aspect of History. The AS examination will see students examine the political, social and economic changes of Germany and Russia leading up to the First World War. There is also an in-depth study of Britain, focusing on events after 1902. To fulfill the A2 course, alongside the Personal Study, students further their understanding of Britain by evaluating the extent of change between 1918 and 1964, a fascinating period in British History, as the country dealt with the aftermath of two world wars and a changing attitude to Empire.
