Physics is concerned with the discovery and characterization of the universal laws which govern matter, energy, space and time. Doing physics 'A' Level at Holland Park will let you find out: what happens when a star dies; what the smallest thing in existence is; why a nuclear power station cannot explode like a bomb; how we make electricity; what a quark is; what antimatter is; why you look strange in a swimming pool; what a black hole actually is; how to use a Geiger Counter and much more. We study a range of modules and cover particle behaviour, the statics and dynamics of bodies, what controls the universe, radioactivity and electrical circuits. The course also requires students to complete a practical exam at AS and A2.

This may be a valuable course for you if you are interested in reading any of the following at University:
Physics, Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, Accountancy, Veterinary Science, Dentistry, Aviation, Systems Analysis.

Entry Requirements:

  • GCSE Core Science – A*/A
  • GCSE Additional Science – A*/A

Other GCSEs that would assist progression:

  • Mathematics – A/B
