Appointment of New Headteacher

An experienced school leader has been appointed the new substantive headteacher of Holland Park School.

Steve Parsons has been the headteacher of the very successful Langley Park School for Boys in Beckenham, south east London, since 2013. He will start in September after his selection from a very strong field of candidates.

Mr Parsons will replace Arwel Jones who has led Holland Park School in an interim capacity since February when Colin Hall brought forward his retirement.

Mr Parsons has been in teaching for more than 20 years. He worked at schools in Hammersmith and Fulham before moving to Greenwich to take up his first senior role as an Assistant Headteacher. Prior to moving to Langley Park School for Boys, he worked for seven years as a Deputy Headteacher at a large comprehensive school in Lambeth.

Steve Parsons said:

“I am really excited to be joining Holland Park School. It has a well-deserved reputation of a high-achieving school which has a truly unique character. I am looking forward to working with the staff team to help ensure that the education we provide the students is as good as it possibly can be in all areas of school life.”

Jane Farrell, the Chair of Governors at Holland Park School, said:

“We are delighted that Steve Parsons will be joining us – he is a very experienced and exceptionally able school leader. Arwel Jones has done an excellent job as our interim head and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all the work he continues to do for the students, staff and parents of Holland Park School.”
