Ten of our Year 12 A Level Biology students recently attended the Oxford Nanopore Technologies Conference, where they explored the world of DNA sequencing and met scientists working at the forefront of biological research. From learning about genetic diseases, epigenetics and cancer research to exploring wildlife forensics and newborn screening, students experienced how Biology is transforming the future of science and medicine. The day also included hands-on laboratory activities, networking with scientists and workshops using sequencing technology to investigate wildlife crime. We are incredibly proud that some students even secured work experience opportunities through the connections they made.
