Holland Park School Sixth Form is a high performing sixth form that prepares students intensively and carefully for their next stage of life post-18.

Applications for September 2027 will open on Thursday 1st October 2026.

For Internal Students in Year 11 at Holland Park School - You will shortly receive an email to your school email address for your application with your log in details and instructions. The school has already created Applicaa accounts for you to streamline and facilitate your applications. You will see a simplified form as a "Registered User" that already knows who you are - you will simply need to complete this with your subject choices.

Application timeline

Applications to the sixth form take place on Applicaa.
Applications will open on the 1^st October and close on 31^st January.
You may apply after 31^st January yet there is no guarantee that your application will be considered.
Conditional offer letters will be sent out in February.
Enrolment, with actual achieved grades, will take places on GCSE results day.
The deadline for applications is 31^st January 2027.

Places at Holland Park School Sixth Form are allocated in accordance with the school’s admissions policy. In 2027 and 2028, the school expects to admit to Year 12 a maximum of 120 students.

Appealing a decision not to offer a place in our Sixth Form

Appeals

If you have not been offered a place at Holland Park School, the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel. This panel is completely independent of the school and the Local Authority. All appeals will be heard online which has the advantage that your appeal can be heard from your home or place of work.

You should include any evidence or supporting material with your appeal form and you MUST give the grounds for your appeal at the time you lodge your appeal form. Your appeal form will not be accepted unless you state the grounds for your appeal. You may appeal for more than one school, but on different forms.

Any letters or reports that you wish the panel to see should be uploaded at this time. You are asked to bear in mind that if you later send additional information, the closing date is 5 working days before the STAGE 1 hearing. All appointed panels have agreed NOT to take any late letters or reports after the 5 working day deadline. This will be strictly enforced. For secondary/primary transfer appeals, the hearing will take place at least TWO months after the refusal letter. This gives you plenty of time to get your evidence together if you act early and take account of school holidays.

Please note that the online form will ask you to download two utility bills dated in the last THREE months. If you do not have access to a scanner, please take two photographs with a mobile phone and upload the photographic files.

Timetable for appeals for the 6^th form is as follows

31 August 2027. For 6^th form appeals only, the appeal form can be completed by a student or parent.

Invitation letter giving details about your hearing will be sent by the Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel

In order to facilitate a hearing as soon as possible, an email will be sent at very short notice. However, if a student or parent wishes to have 10 school days notice, this needs to be indicated on the appeal form.

Appeal date

The date will be late August or September 2027

Subject entry requirements for September 2027

Our sixth form subject entry requirements for 2027 are as follows:

that students meet the specific subject GCSE grade requirement

that students achieve a grade 6 in English (either Language OR Literature) and grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics

that students achieve an average of a grade 6 across their top eight GCSE subjects

Please note:

Choosing four subjects is subject to the school's approval following the publication of GCSE results. This will be under review throughout the A Level courses. As a minimum, the top eight average should be greater than 7.5, but other factors (e.g. subject combinations) should be also considered carefully.

Further Maths must be taken as a fourth A Level. This is, as above, subject to the school’s approval.

We recommend that students choosing Physics also choose Mathematics A Level, as Physics A Level requires advanced mathematical skills.
