Science at Holland Park School

The purpose of the science curriculum is to: ignite curiosity, foster a deep understanding of the natural world, and empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly scientific and technological society. We aim to cultivate a culture of inquiry and critical thinking, encouraging students to ask questions, engage in hands-on experimentation, and develop a robust understanding of scientific concepts and principles.  Through our science curriculum, we aim to develop well-rounded individuals who are not only knowledgeable about scientific concepts but also capable of thinking critically and creatively. Our students will be equipped to contribute positively to society, pursue further education and careers in science and related fields, and address the scientific challenges of the future with confidence and integrity.

Science at Holland Park School follows the United Learning curriculum. For Year 7, this has developed through the course of 2024 to 2025

Science is a core subject at GCSE, and is taught holistically through the disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. Science translate into two GCSEs, if the Combined Science route is adopted, and three GCSEs, if the Triple Science route is adopted.

All curriculum documents for science at GCSE are provided below. There is also further information in the Options Booklet.
