Parent requests for support for their child

If you wish to refer your child to Place2Be for one-to-one counselling, please contact your child's  Heads of Year, email is usually the best way to do this.

When contacting the Head of Year, please include the following information:

  • Child full name
  • Child tutor group
  • The reason for the request
  • Parent contact phone number
  • Parent contact email address

Heads of Year will then pass the details of your request to the counsellor who will contact the parent.

Student requests for support

Students who would like an appointment for Place2talk need to complete the below online request form. The Place2Be School based counsellor will be in touch to make an appointment during lunch break.

Place2Be

At Holland Park School, we offer a range of counselling, therapeutic and psychological support to students and parents. Counselling services are provided by Place2Be, the leading UK provider of school-based mental health support.

Place2Be provides the academy with clinical staff who work with the pastoral team to provide a whole school approach. 

Staff are supported through Place2Think and resources are shared to increase mental health awareness and provide a robust pastoral care for all students.

Place2Be offers comprehensive mental health support to students, including one-to-one therapy sessions , group interventions through 'The Journey of Hope' and Place2Talk, which is a lunchtime self-referral service. All these therapeutic sessions are tailored to address18A116C4-2774-4449-B9B4-B1F35230C5A4 students individual mental health challenges. Through a range of therapeutic modalities such as talking therapies, play therapy, and CBT-based interventions, students are provided with a safe and confidential space to explore and manage their feelings, tackle life challenges, and address school-related pressures and friendship issues.

 

Ms Gail Dasantos-Roach is the school School Based Counsellor with Place2Be.

Place2Talk is open to all pupils, and they can make an appointment in lunch times between 12.55-1.15 to spend 20 minutes with a trained counsellor, either by themselves or with a friend. 

Place2Be will record the child’s name, date of birth, year group, gender, ethnicity, the broad topic of discussion and any actions taken as a result of the session.  This information is stored securely. 

Parental Agreement for Accessing Place2Talk 

Unless we hear otherwise from you, the school and Place2Be will assume that your child has parent/carers’ permission to come to Place2Talk.
