Students Celebrate GCSE Success

The release of GCSE qualifications has seen students awarded a raft of top grade 9s with a third of students achieving a grade 7 or above in both English and Maths.

Students at Holland Park School are once again celebrating some exceptional GCSE achievements, with a number of students picking up a raft of the top grade 9s.

 This includes Christine and Josh who are two of just 120 students in the country who achieved eleven or more grade 9s this year. Josh achieved eleven, whilst Christine was awarded twelve.

 Other top performers at Holland Park School include:

  • Grace, who was awarded ten grade 9s and two grade 8s;
  • Noah and Alicia, who were each awarded ten grade 9s and a grade 8;
  • Alex, who was awarded nine grade 9s and three grade 8s;
  • Clarice, who was awarded nine grade 9s and two grade 8s;
  • Hossein, who was awarded nine grade 9s, two grade 8s and a grade 7;
  • Lucien, who was awarded nine grade 9s, one grade 8 and a grade 7;
  • Dyala, who was awarded nine grade 9s, one grade 8 and two grade 7s;
  • Manuela, who was awarded eight grade 9s and four grade 8s;
  • Emma, who was awarded eight grade 9s, two grade 8s and a grade 7;
  • Amelie, who was awarded eight grade 9s, two grade 8s, one grade 7, one grade 5 and an A* in Further Maths;
  • Jacob, who was awarded eight grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7;
  • Alexander, who was awarded eight grade 9s, two grade 8s and a grade 7.

 Across the whole cohort, two thirds (65%) of students achieved a grade 5 or above in both English and Maths, whilst a third of them (34%) secured a 7 or above in the two subjects.

 Today’s GCSE successes follow an impressive showing for Holland Park sixth form students last week last week, in which students secured high numbers of places to some of the UK’s best Russell Group universities. This includes six students who are heading to Oxford this autumn.

 Dame Sally Coates, Executive Principal at Holland Park School and Director of Secondary Academies at United Learning, said:

 “I would like to congratulate all our students who are celebrating their GCSE results today. They have worked incredibly hard and today’s achievements are testament to their dedication, as well as to the commitment of staff at the School and the support of their families. We look forward to many of them joining the School’s Sixth Form and continuing their education at Holland Park, where I have no doubt they will continue to build on their successes at A Level.”
